Braker Steel installed a new 6KW Mitsubishi GXF Fiber Laser in December of 2024 offering laser cutting services to existing and new customers across the US. This new service expands our first-step-processing capabilities. Fiber lasers are relatively new technology but far outpace other plate and sheet processing methods including CO2 lasers and plasma cutting for lighter steel parts. Not only are fiber lasers much faster on thinner sheet metal than say plasma, laser cutting is also much more accurate. Fiber lasers also have a major advantage over CO2 lasers in terms of much less power consumption and dramatically faster cut speeds. These machines are workhorses in the modern steel fabrication industry for producing custom metal parts in high or low volume. Our specific laser cutting capabilities are below:
